Alphonse Alley
Alphonse Amadou Alley ( born April 9, 1930; † 28 March 1987) was from 1967 to 1968 President of Dahomey, now Benin.
On December 19, 1967 the come even in a coup to power President General Christophe Soglo was overthrown by a military coup led by Maurice Iropa Kouandété. Kouandété handed the presidency two days later to Lieutenant Colonel Alley. On 26 June 1968, the ruling junta decided a civilian government to entrust the solution of the problems of the country.
They opted for Emile Derlin Zinsou Henri, who replaced Alley on 17 July 1968 as President; his term was completed in the year following a familiar pattern in a coup.
In August 2004, was started in Bassilia with the construction of a mausoleum for Alley.
