Alphonse Georger

Alphonse Georger ( born May 25, 1936 in Sarreguemines, Moselle, France) is a retired bishop of Oran.

Life

Alphonse Georger received on 29 June 1965, and was ordained priest incardinated in the clergy of the Archdiocese of Algiers.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 10 July 1998 as Bishop of Oran. He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of Rouen, Joseph Duval, on 9 August of that year; Co-consecrators were the Henri Teissier, Archbishop of Algiers, and Pierre Raffin, OP, Bishop of Metz.
