The Old Field, also known as Black River and Black Brook in the upper reaches and also known as Altfell, is the right and southwestern source river of the slot in the Vogelsberg and in the district of Fulda, in Hesse, Germany. It is 30.0 km long and its catchment area covers 135.222 km ².

Course

The old box springs in the Vogelsberg mountains. Your source is located within the Vogelsberg district on the eastern flank of the baptismal font (773 m above sea level. NN ). It lies within the nature park Hoher Vogelsberg in Köhler forest at around 637 m above sea Urborn. NN.

Initially, the old field flows after leaving the forest area as Black River eastward by first Hochwaldhausen and then Ilbeshausen, which are summarized as district Ilbeshausen - Hochwaldhausen the greater community Grebenhain. Below Ilbeshausen opens the left hand a little Haselbach. Henceforth the watercourse runs as Altfell by Altenschlirf. Then it flows as Altefeld by Schlechtenwegen. After left-sided open out of the mill Bach Altefeld flows northward to Bad Salzschlirf where they relate to 238.7 m above sea level. NN combined with the coming from the west to the Lauter under this name only 13.3 km long, left-sided Fulda inflow slot.
