Álvaro Véliz

Álvaro Véliz ( born February 9, 1972 in Santiago de Chile) is a Chilean singer.

Life

His first steps in his musical career, he committed suicide in his school song festivals. At the age of 9 years, he participated in " El clan infantile " Sábado Gigante Ferhsehsenders the part. Then he began to sing for commercials.

In 1980 he decided to Music to study with a focus on guitar, piano and conducting at the University of Chile, during which time he also sang in pubs and nightclubs. In 1998 he won the competition for new interpreters of Fernsheprogramms " Sabado Gigante " in Miami. He also participated in recordings of Spanish versions of songs from animated series such as Dragon Ball Z, Detective Conan Slam Dunk and the title song from the movie Pokémon.

With increasing success Alvaro Veliz 2000 took part in the charity event Telethon Chile. He was awarded the APES prize in 2001, 2004 for Best Album of the Year from the National Arts Altazor, three years later he won the prize with his album Mía again.

In 2005 he won the competition XLVII Festival Internacional de la Canción de Viña del Mar with the song Hoy by musician Eric Phillips.
