Alvesta

Alvesta is a place ( Tätort ) in the Swedish province of Blekinge County, the historical province of Småland. Alvesta located 20 km west of Växjö on the National Highway 25 and is the capital of the municipality Alvesta.

Alvesta emerged as a railway junction in the 19th century. In Alvesta the Södra stambanan Stockholm and Malmö and the Kust till kust - banan Gothenburg Växjö - Kalmar cross. In Alvesta are administrative units from the Swedish Rail Administration ( Banverket ).
