Ambros Seelos

Ambros Seelos ( born January 30, 1935 in Toeging am Inn ) is a German saxophonist, clarinetist, bandleader and arranger.

Life

Ambros Seelos was born in Toeging in Altötting (Upper Bavaria) as the fifth of seven children. He trained as a plumber, but learned in addition clarinet. After his apprenticeship, he studied classical clarinet at the University for classical music in Munich. Seelos financed his studies by Paul Würges in a rock and roll band in the Northern band he played together style from 1956.

In 1958 he founded together with Hanslbauer the Septet Jokers. It was commissioned in 1960, first as a septet with mixed brass section (trumpet, trombone and two saxophones and piano, bass and drums), later with 10 musicians and singer, Ambros Seelos Orchestra, the forth. The first concert was held in Luxembourg, where the band due to the many offers, the Ambros Seelos himself wrote on a typewriter, committed.

It was followed by engagements in dance and entertainment venues throughout Europe, to touring with Freddy Quinn, Chubby Checker and Lou van Burg. In Naples, there was a three-month stint in the officer's club to the NATO as well as two U.S. aircraft carriers. When touring in Sweden Seelos was with Count Basie and Louie Bellson on stage and joined in often on TV shows. He also took several groove jazz records for the label on MPS, including the 1968 album ' Fire' with the famous song ' Swingle Beat'.

The Ambros Seelos Show Band was at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich, the Ball Orchestra. When Madame ball he has performed with Ella Fitzgerald.

In the 1970s and 1980s Seelos toured Asia. Manila, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Bombay, Jakarta, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates were stations during this time. The early 1980s he was involved in music to poetry Helmut Zöpfls. From the late 1980s, there were also activities on cruise ships (including with Karel Gott, Roberto Blanco, Margot Werner, Andreas Hauff and Edith Prock ), in March 1996, it was stabbed with Europe for the seventh time in the lake. Ambros Seelos today lives with his wife Margit, with whom he has two sons, in Mette Home / Hart ( Upper Bavaria).
