Ameixoeira is a Portuguese parish ( freguesia ) on the 3rd Bairro the capital Lisbon. In the 1.52 km ² large municipality located 11,651 inhabitants (as of 30 June 2011).

The community has its own metro station with the same name. Among the facilities located here are the Music Academy Academia de Música de Santa Cecília and a guide school ( Instituto Superior de Gestão ). The Freguesia is divided into several zones, in Quinta da Torrinha, Desvío, the historic city center, Galinheiras, Alto do Chapeleiro, Quinta das Lavadeiras, Quinta das Mouriscas, Santa Clara and the new zones Alta de Lisboa and Quinta do Grafanil.
