American Sociological Review

American Sociological Review is an academic journal that is published by the American Sociological Association (ASA ) and SAGE Publications. The magazine is published every two months.

The American Sociological Association was initially mostly as members of the Department of Sociology at the University of Chicago. Until 1935, the official journal of the ASA was published by the University of Chicago Press American Journal of Sociology. In 1935, the ASA decided to start a magazine that was independent from the University of Chicago. In 1936 the American Sociological Review was founded.
