The Mousekewitz family has been living for a while in New York City, during a summer thunderstorm American Tail has a terrible nightmare in which a monster gets the mice from the street. First, it displaces the memory of it, to Tanya, a few days later takes him to work, a newspaper publisher, which is led by Mr. Ried. There he hears the rumor that bypasses a monster in Chinatown. To prove that he is not a coward, he wants to find out the whole truth, it helps him, the reporter Nelly Brie. At the end he finds a small poodle named Mushee leading a horde of stray cats which catch the mice away from the road. Together with his friends he can defeat them. Ried and Nelly fall in love at the end and Mushee will of its owners returned.
Publication and production
The film was released on 9 December 1999 in the cinemas in Germany on 6 March 2000 in the UK and July 25 in the U.S. for the first time. At the production company Complete Post, Inc., TAMA Productions Co. Ltd. were. and Larson Sound Center involved. The first television was on 1 November 2000 in Hungary and on April 4, 2005 in Germany. On DVD the film on 6 October 2005 was released.
