Amanda McBroom
Amanda McBroom ( born August 9, 1947 in Woodland Hills, California) is an American actress, singer, songwriter and cabaret artist.
Life
McBroom graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and reached a BFA in 1969. Their most successful song is The Rose of 1979, for which she won the Golden Globe Award in 1980. Later, she worked for a long time with the songwriter Michele Brourman together, such as on some songs in the film series The Land Before Time.
She has performed in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco and European productions of the musical Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris and witnessed in 1973 made her Broadway debut in Seesaw. In 1989 she published her first in Los Angeles Musical Heartbeats. 2005, her off- Broadway musical A Woman of Will had premiere.
As an actress, she is known for her role Sandi Welles in the television series Hawaii Five-O ( 1976-1977 ). She had several other appearances in series such as in Medical Center (1973 ), Gunsmoke (1975) Charlie's Angels (1977 ), Starsky & Hutch (1978), Hart to Hart (1980 ), M * A * S * H ( 1981), Remington Steele (1983 ), Magnum (1985) and as Captain Phillipa Louvois in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1989). She also played in the TV movie The Paul Williams Show (1979 ) and lent in English various figures in cartoons her voice.
McBroom is the daughter of actor David Bruce.
