The Land Before Time
In The Land Before Time is an animated cartoon. It was produced by Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment. Directed by Don Bluth. The film music was composed by James Horner. The film was released by Universal Pictures in 1988 in the cinemas.
Action
As the herbivorous dinosaurs the food runs out, make the small Littlefoot and his family to new feeding grounds in the fabled find the "Great Valley ". But as the continents collide, an earthquake splits the country. This Littlefoot is separated from his grandparents. His mother dies in a battle with " Sharptooth ", a Tyrannosaurus rex, died. Thus Littlefoot must stand alone according quite a journey to the " Great Valley ". Soon, however, he meets other dinosaur children who were separated from their families and from now on they deny the dangerous journey together.
On their way, the friends meet again to dangerous situations and enemies, as well as on Sharptooth, but they can conquer together at the end. At the end of the five friends reach the "Great Valley " and take back to their families.

The story of this movie continued in several produced directly -to-video movies.
In the previous twelve installments of "The Land Before Time " experience the five friends are always new adventures. Be it the problem with the snow, which can soon have no food, or the many water that one day comes into the great valley and brings with it new dangers and a new friend. Or the egg that will find the five friends and hatch and from then suddenly slips a small sharp tooth; or Little Foot's sick grandfather, urgently needs to be helped.

TV Series
On 5 March 2007, launched in the U.S. a 26-part series on " The Land Before Time " with same title, which is located in the continuity after the events of the 13th film. The German premiere under the title The Land Before Time was March 9, 2008 to April 3, 2008 in KI.KA. There are also two new characters to come: Chomper, the Sharptooth ( Tyrannosaurus ), and Ruby, the fast runabout ( Oviraptor ). Also some new enemies of the now seven friends came this: claw and claw, the quick snapper ( Velociraptors ) and Rotklaue. In the consequences they also meet old friends always like Ali, the long-necked ( Apatosaurus ) and Guido ( Microraptor ).
Others
Director Don Bluth had 10 minutes of the film cut because scenes were considered too scary for children. This film one of his shortest animated films was.
