The Universidad Anáhuac (UA ) is a privately funded Mexican university, the various universities at home and abroad belong to the so-called Red de Universidades Anáhuac.

History

Founder and first director was Marcial Maciel in 1964. To improve the human and social conditions for women and men in Mexico, he founded the Universidad Anahuac in the education project of the Legionaries of Christ, who is also called into being by him Christian Association, which is backing the University at the same time.

" Anahuac " comes from the Aztec language Nahuatl and means " by the shore ".
