Anatoli Kim

Anatoly Andreyevich Kim ( born June 15, 1939 in Sergijewka, Kazakh SSR ) is a Russian-language writers of Korean descent: The ancestors of his family emigrated in the mid-19th century from Korea to Russia and were, like the entire Korean minority in Russia, 1937 deported to Central Asia.

Anatoly Kim was born on 15 June 1939 in Sergijewka ( South Kazakhstan Oblast ), the son of a teacher. Kim first studied at the Art School Pamiati 1905 goda, Moscow. In 1971 he completed his studies at the remote Maxim Gorky Literature Institute. He worked as a crane operator, in a furniture factory, as a projectionist, Designers, headed prose seminars at the Institute of Literature and taught for a time in the South Korean capital Seoul. Since 1996 he is in the editorial board of the journal Yasnaya Polyana. His literary activity Kim began as a poet. His first stories appeared in 1973.

In the other republics of the former Soviet Union Anatoly Kim was relatively well known, his works have been translated into several languages.
