Ancient Diocese of Lectoure

The diocese Lectoure (Latin: Dioecesis Lectorensis ) was a location in France Roman Catholic diocese based in Lectoure.

History

The diocese Lectoure was built in the 4th century. It was the archbishopric Eauze a suffragan. First bishop was Heuterus. Mid-10th century the bishopric Lectoure was the archbishopric assumed also a suffragan.

On November 29, 1801, Diocese Lectoure was dissolved as a result of the Concordat of 1801 by Pope Pius VII with the Papal Bull Qui Christi Domini and the territory was the archbishopric of Toulouse and the diocese of Agen affiliated.

In 1745 the diocese Lectoure comprised 72 parishes.
