And Now the Legacy Begins (Eng. "And now the legacy begins " ) is the debut album of Canadian hip-hop duo Dream Warriors. It was released on 23 April 1991 under the label Iceland Records. The album is regarded as one of the best alternative hip- hop records of the Golden Age and was in Canada and internationally a great success.

Singles

My Definition of a Boombastic Jazz Style, the most successful single release of the album, containing samples of the play "Soul Bossa Nova " by Quincy Jones - was that Canadian viewers known as longtime theme song of the game show definition. The piece was in Canada and Europe, a top 20 hit in 1992 and won a Juno Award in the category Rap Recording of the Year. Other notable singles were Wash Your Face in My Sink and Ludi.

Reception

The album received great acclaim from the critics. The magazine Spin recommended the album and praised to " numbing, almost seamless sampling driven tracks ". Allmusic rated the album 4 ½ out of 5 stars and commented that the duo aufwarte with varied inspired samples and Groves, from jazz to harder beats, with style and skill, it peaked in the UK album charts and number 18 in Canada 34th It was there awarded the gold certification of the Canadian Recording Industry Association. Worldwide, more than 800,000 copies were sold
