The Anderson Regional Transportation Center is a railway station of the suburban and long-distance transport in Woburn, Massachusetts (United States). It lies at the western end of Atlantic Avenue in the north- east of the city. From here run suburban trains of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority in Boston, Lowell and Haverhill, and Downeaster trains of Amtrak to Boston and Portland (Maine).

History

As part of the resumption of the train service Express from Boston to Portland by Amtrak train station between the cities of Wilmington and Woburn was planned to connect both cities with a station can. It was opened on April 28, 2001, nine months before taking the Amtrak operation. The MBTA he replaced the breakpoint Mishawum, located just a few hundred meters south, and has since operated only by individual trains during rush hour.

Facilities

The track surface is at ground level. The station has a center platform, which lies between the track rails of the double-track line Boston Lowell. To the west of the two platform tracks is also a transit rails for freight trains, which is ridden in both directions. The station building with the address 100 Atlantic Avenue is located east of the railway tracks and is connected to the platform by an overpass. It has a ticket office, toilets and a small shop. A passage to the western side of the station there is not.

South of the station a double track change was installed north a simple track change in direction Lowell.
