Otherworld is the sixth studio album by the Munich medieval / folk - rock band Schandmaul, which was recorded in Charles Village from October 2007 to January 2008 in the Turn Style Studio in Berlin and in the HOFA Studios. Producer Thomas Heimann- Trosien. The album includes 14 songs, including the song Fiddlefolkpunk an instrumental. Thematically this album deals with mythical figures, like sirens in the eponymous song to werewolves in the song Wolf Man and ghosts in the song hour of light. The song three songs tells of a young bard who takes part in a singing competition in order to take revenge on the prince, who once destroyed his village and killed the only brother. The song The Queen describes the situation of a haunted woman who was kind-hearted once and was turned into a vicious dragon. In the song Otherworld describes how strange creatures have been seen from the Otherworld on a Celtic shrine. Benni Cellini of last instance occurs in the songs on Warrior, Queen, The bride eyes! and princess as a guest musician.
Cover
The cover shows two outlines of a little girl and a hunchbacked man, standing on a huge tree branch. In the background you can see a castle. The back of the booklet complete the cover image, which is very similar to this. It lacks the two body outlines and the castle in the background.
Chart positions
Otherworld stood for 15 weeks in the top 100 of the German album charts ( at No. 8), 3 weeks in the Austrian charts ( at No. 43) and also three weeks in the Swiss charts ( at No. 44).

Dates of other world tour in 2008
The other world tour began on 11 April 2008 in the Netherlands and led the way through Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Final was the anniversary concert that took place on 14 November 2008 in Munich Zenith. Support bands on this and the anniversary tour included the Dutch folk-pop band Reincarnatus that regensburger folk-rock band twilight and last instance.

- The song tells warriors along with the young Siegfried from the album From rogues and scoundrels and other Dragon Slayer from the album As thick as thieves the legend of Siegfried the dragon-slayer from the Nibelungenlied. In the jubilee concert in Munich Zenith, which took place on 14 November 2008 in front of 7000 spectators, the songs were performed together for the first time as The Dragon Medley.
- The song The Queen was performed twice live. These were also at the concert in November 2008, on the anniversary open-air concert in Duisburg on 10 June 2009. Singer Thomas Lindner said the song was impossible playable without guest musicians and 'll only played twice for this reason.
Criticism
Monsters and Critics wrote about otherworld that it will even if no brutality as other medieval rock bands to provide this offer, was very successful and spoonful of sugar, like kings and knights of the music of Schandmaul lent a certain flavor.
