Andranik Teymourian

Andranik Teymourian ( born March 6, 1983 in Tehran ) is an Iranian football player. He belongs to the Armenian- minority in Iran and is currently the only Iranian national player Christian faith.

Career

Teymourian played in the youth and in his younger years as a professional at four different clubs of his hometown Tehran last until 2004 at FC Oghab. Then, the midfielder moved to the well-known for its youth development club Abu Moslem Mashhad in the second largest city of Iran, where he made ​​the breakthrough in the first Iranian league.

Andranik Teymourian was discovered very early for the national teams of Iran and went through all the youth national teams. On 24 August 2005 he had his first appearance in the Iranian national team and was subsequently used regularly. Accordingly, he stood at the Football World Cup 2006 in Germany in the World Cup squad of Iran. There he played through all three games of his country and was able to convince despite leaving in the first round.

After the World Cup, the English Premier League club Bolton Wanderers showed interest in the Iranian youngster and secured his services for two years. Then on 12 June 2008, he moved within the Premier League free for Fulham FC. In 2010 he returned to Iran, where he signed a contract for Tractor Sazi Tabriz. After one season, he moved to league rivals Esteghlal Tehran, before he moved to Qatar to Al- Kharitiyath SC for season 2012/13.

Teymourians older brother Serjik (born 29 mai 1975): played from 1999 to 2000 when the then German second division 1 FSV Mainz 05, but was used only eight times.
