André Fabre

André Fabre ( born December 9, 1945) is a former jockey and one of the most successful horse trainer in flat racing.

The diplomat's son André Fabre decided despite good graduation for a career as a jockey. Initially he worked as a groom and trainer. He was France's leading obstacle jockey and won more than 250 races, including the Grand Steeple - Chase de Paris, the most important obstacle race in France.

As a coach, he later became a lot more successful. He won among others seven times the Prix de l' Arc de Triomphe, the most important horse race in the world. In Germany, winning the prize of Europe with the stallion Apple Tree was his biggest success in 1992. He also coached successfully repeated German horse owners. So Baron won by Ullmann sirocco under his guidance the 2005 Breeders' Cup Turf and stud Ammer Lands Lope de Vega in 2010, both the French Derby and the French 2000 Guineas.
