Andrea Ghiurghi

Andrea Ghiurghi ( born September 15, 1966 in Varese ) is an Italian former volleyball player.

Career

Ghiurghi won in 1993 with Dionisio Lequaglie the bronze medal at the first European Championship. In 1996, he took with his new partner Nicola Grigolo at the Olympic tournament in Atlanta in part. There, the two Italians lost against the later gold medalist Kiraly / Steffes (USA) and the Norwegians Kvalheim / Maaseide and occupied the 13th place.

In the next few years Ghiurghi formed a duo with Riccardo Lione. In the 1997 World Series, however, he took up with Marco Solustri and did not come about Rank 33 out. In 2000 he played his last Open Tournament. In 2005 he returned once more to beach volleyball and played some Satellite and Challenger tournaments with Gianni Mascagna.
