Andreas Becker

Andreas Becker ( born March 8, 1970 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ) is a German hockey player and Olympic champion.

Andreas Becker played in Uhlenhorst Mülheim and has been with this team in 1988, 1990, 1991, 1994 and 1995 German Masters. From 1988 to 1996, the club won nine consecutive times European Cup of Champions.

After he had become 1988 European Junior champion and 1989 World Junior Champion, debuted in 1989 in the Left Wing of the German national hockey team. He won in 1991 at the Field Hockey Championship and the title was in 1991 and 1992 in the Champions Trophy in the winning team. At the Olympic Games in 1992 Becker was present in all seven games and reached with the German team the first Olympic gold medal after twenty years. After the fourth place at the World Cup 1994 Becker won the 1995 for the second time Field Hockey European Championship. Becker ended his career in the national team at the Olympic Games in 1996, when the German team took fourth place. Overall, Becker played in 123 international matches, including 5 in the hall.
