Andreas Hinkel Benjamin ( born March 26, 1982 in Backnang ) is a former German football player and current coach.

Career as a player

Andreas Hinkel began playing football at TSV people Bach, for whom he played his first years of club football from 1987 to 1992. The age of ten (1992 ), he moved to VfB Stuttgart. He won with the youth teams of VfB two titles: he was with the C- Youth South German Champion 1996, 1999 he was able to celebrate with the Junior B the German championship.

VfB Stuttgart (2000-2006)

In the 2000 /01 Bundesliga season Hinkel was equipped from VfB Stuttgart to a professional contract. On 15 February 2001 Hinkel was in the UEFA Cup match against Celta Vigo ( 0-0) made ​​his debut as a professional. Three days later, Hinkel played his first Bundesliga match against Hertha BSC. The following week, he was also in the return game at Celta Vigo in the starting lineup, it was the last game of Ralf Rangnick as VfB coach. The rights defenders came under new coach Felix Magath in the last twelve league games of the season nine times for use and so had its share of the league.

Sevilla FC (2006-2008)

After 14 years at VfB Stuttgart Andreas Hinkel decided in 2006 to accept a new challenge. He moved to FC Sevilla - just in the most successful period of the club history: Sevilla won with Hinkel 2007 UEFA Cup. Hinkel played in eight games, but not in the final. He also won with Sevilla Spanish Cup and finished the season the Spanish Primera Division in third place.

In the 2007 /08 season it ran for Hinkel athletic not so successful and after the contract extension of his former rivals Dani Alves in Seville were Hinkel inserts rare. Celtic Glasgow (2008-2011)

Hinkel was oriented again and moved in January 2008 to the Scottish club Celtic FC under manager Gordon Strachan. Hinkel was able to prevail, immediately became a regular player and was with Scottish champions Celtic in 2008. A year later, Celtic had local rivals Glasgow Rangers in the Scottish Cup let go first, but the club won the Scottish League Cup. Hinkel was preparing for the 2008 /09 season to seven goals and was selected in the team of the season. In the late summer of 2010 he suffered a cruciate ligament injury. Hinkel could enter training with the team until the spring of 2011 again, but came to no use in the season 2010/11. Since his contract was not renewed at Celtic, he was without a club since July 2011. To keep fit, Hinkel trained since August 2011 when his former club VfB Stuttgart.

SC Freiburg (2011-2012)

On 6 October 2011, the SC Freiburg obliged the club loose Hinkel and concluded with him a contract until 30 June 2012. However Hinkel could not prevail at the SCF and came especially after the change of coach Marcus Sorg on Christian Streich hardly used why his contract was not renewed in Freiburg. In September 2012, he ended his career as a professional footballer.

National

The year 2003 was successful for Andreas Hinkel not only with VfB Stuttgart, it was also the year of his debut with the national team on April 30 against Serbia and Montenegro ( 1-0) under the former DFB coach Rudi Voeller. This was followed by 16 more inserts for Germany. In 2004 he was in the squad of the European Championships in Portugal, but was not used there. After his move to Sevilla Hinkel was initially not considered for the national team. He missed the 2006 World Cup in Germany, and the 2008 European Championship in Austria and Switzerland. In September 2008, Hinkel was appointed by national coach Joachim Loew returned to the national team and celebrated the game on 10 September 2008 against Finland ( 3-3 ) comeback. Three more missions for the national team followed. Hinkel's goal was the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, but he was not taken into account by national coach Loew.

Career as a coach

Hinkel is from the 2013/14 season junior coach of the U -12 and assistant coach of the U-16 VfB Stuttgart.
