Andreas Horvath

Andreas Horvath ( born August 25, 1968 in Salzburg) is an Austrian photographer and filmmaker.

Life

Andreas Horvath studied photography at the Graphic Federal Education and Research Institute in Vienna and MultiMediaArt at the Fachhochschule Salzburg. His documentary ran at numerous festivals, including International Film Festival of Locarno, International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, London Film Festival, Visions du Reel, San Francisco International Film Festival.

Horvath's second feature-length documentary "Arab Attraction" was created in collaboration with Monika Muskala. It is about Barbara Wally, the art historian, feminist and former Director of the International Summer Academy in Salzburg, who marries a Yemeni shortly before her retirement and converted to Islam.

Horvath's third feature-length film "Earth 's Golden Playground" treats the new gold rush in Dawson City, Yukon. It was in 2014 awarded the Max Ophüls Prize.

2010 Got Horvath at Heimatfilmfestival the appraisal price of Freistadt, in 2013 the Outstanding Artist Award of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture.

2007 and 2008 created Horvath several music videos of the British songwriter Sarah Nixey ( original singer of the English band Black Box Recorder ).
