Black Box Recorder

Black Box Recorder was an English Indie-/Elektropop-Trio, which was founded in 1998 by songwriters Luke Haines and John Moore and singer Sarah Nixey. The arrangement of their pop melodies was largely influenced by the at that time especially popular in the UK genres Trip Hop and Ambient.

2001 married John Moore and Sarah Nixey. The band was temporarily put on hold in 2004 and divorced marriage between Moore and Nixey again in 2006.

In 2007, the band worked with Art Brut under the name The Black Arts together and released a Christmas single titled Christmas Number One. 2009 the band returned with several concerts in London back to the stage. At the same time it was announced that a new album of the band was to be expected, but which never appeared. On 16 April 2010 the band announced that they would disband after publication of a final single. The single Keep It in the Family was published on 6 May of the same year.
