Andrew King (music manager)

Andrew King ( born 1942 ) is a music manager. King, Peter Jenner and the original four members of Pink Floyd were partners in Blackhill Enterprises.

Biography

1966 King began with Jenner, to care for the young band Pink Floyd. They founded together Blackhill Enterprises. 1968, after the departure of Syd Barrett, the company of Pink Floyd parted. The supervised by Black Hill artists included, among others, Marc Bolan, Roy Harper, Kevin Ayers, Ian Dury and The Clash. Black Hill also organized a series of free outdoor concerts in London's Hyde Park, including the Rolling Stones concert on 5 July 1969.

After the dissolution of Blackhill Enterprises early 1980s oversaw King Ian Dury and still other artists. He was general manager of the music publishing Mute Song 1992. King is an active member of the Performing Right Society (PRS ), which advocates the rights of songwriters, composers and music publishers.
