Andrey Yuryevich Vorobyov

Andrei Vorobyov Jurjewitsch (Russian: Андрей Юрьевич Воробьёв; born April 14, 1970, Krasnoyarsk ) is a Russian politician and, since November 2012 Acting Governor of Moscow Oblast. He was in three legislative periods (2003-2007, 2007-2011 and 2011-2012) Member of the Russian State Duma, most recently he was Vice President of the Russian State Duma and chairman of the Duma faction of the pro-government party « United Russia ». He has also since 2005 Head of the Central Executive Committee of the party.

Biography

Background and education

Vorobyov grew up in a family of engineers in Krasnoyarsk. His father was one of the initiators of the disaster ministry and close companion of Sergei Shoigu, the later disaster Minister and Governor of Moscow Oblast. Since 2008, his father is vice president of the Federation Council. His mother, Lyudmila, who comes from Chechnya, has been working as a technician. His younger brother Maksim is an entrepreneur.

From 1988 to 1989 he did his military service in a motor rifle division of the Interior Ministry troops of the USSR, who participated in operations in Baku / Azerbaijan, Yerevan / Armenia, Kokand and Fergana in Uzbekistan.

In 1995, he graduated in Economics at the University in Vladikavkaz / North Ossetia, specializing in 1998 at the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade in Moscow on international trade and foreign languages.

In 2005 he defended his candidate dissertation in Economics in the Russian Academy of State Service under the President of RF on the theme " Formation and development of the investment potential of the depressed region of southern Russia " (in Russian ). The following year, 2006, he received the degree of Master of Economic Management (MBA ) in politics and business communications at the Institute of Communications Management at the School of Economics in Moscow.

Entrepreneur

From 1991 to 1998 he worked as an entrepreneur. So he founded the group ОАО " Russkoje more » (Russian Sea), one of the largest distributors of fish and sea products in Russia. In the civil service

From 2000, he was in government service, initially as assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Shoigu, the Russian Federation. In 2012 he said in a broadcast of the tele channel " Doschd " ( Rain TV), Sergei Shoigu was his godfather in politics.

In 2000, he was founder and president of the Inter-regional fund to support the party " United Russia ". Since 2003 he is member of the Kremlin party. As part of the activities of the Fondes he organized several international relief operations.

In March 2002 the head of the Republic of Adygeya chasret Sowmen appointed him as his representative in the Federation Council of the RF.

Governor of Moscow Oblast

On November 8, 2012, President Vladimir Putin appointed him as acting governor of the Moscow Oblast. Two days before his predecessor Sergei Shoigu and supporters had been appointed Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation. Vorobyov will lead the Moscow Oblast to the gubernatorial elections in September 2013.

Personal

Vorobyov is married and has two children.

His brother Maksim Jurjewitsch is Chairman of the Board Director of the company " Russkoe More" .1998 He graduated from the Faculty of International Trade Relations at MGIMO Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
