Anen

Aanen, also Anen, was an Egyptian priest, brother of the Great Royal Wife Tiye and thus the king Amenhotep III Schwager.

Aanen was the son of cattle superintendent Yuya and his wife Tuya. His father came from Ipu ( Akhmim ) and was also a prophet of God mins Another child of the couple was the king's wife Tiy. It is also sometimes suggested that the future King Eje II was her child.

Aanen died shortly before 30 year of King Amenhotep III. His grave ( TT120 ) is located in Abd el- Qurna in Thebes -West. His mother Tuya mentioned her son on their outer box-shaped coffin. Only from this naming is known the connection Aanens to Tuya.

A standing figure Aanens is now in the Museo di Torino (No. 5484 ).
