Angamaly ( Malayalam: അങ്കമാലി Aṅkamāli [ aŋɡəma ː li] ) is an Indian town in the district of Ernakulam in Kerala, 33 km north of Ernakulam. It has about 33,000 inhabitants ( 2001 census ) and is considered as the historical seat of the Eastern Church Metropolitan of the Thomas Christians, and therefore appear in the title of Malabar Catholic Major Archbishop and the Syrian Orthodox " Catholicos of India."
