Angela Gehann-Dernbach

Angela Gehann - Dernbach ( born February 21, 1958 in Bucharest, Romania ) is a German conductor, organist, singer and music publisher.

Life

She studied Church Music (A- test) at the Musikhochschule Frankfurt Edgar Krapp ( organ) and Wolfgang Schäfer (conducting). Then they acquired the artistic maturity in conducting with Helmuth Rilling. 1984 to 1993 she was a lecturer in church music at the Theological Seminary Marienhohe in Darmstadt, since she is a freelancer.

It is permanent guest conductor of various state philharmonic orchestras in Romania, taught for several years as a visiting professor of choral conducting at the Musikhochschule in Minsk and a lecturer at the Choir Academy of Siena, which later became artistic director of the International Choir Competition Marienhohe, Darmstadt from 1995 to 1999. She is also Chair of the International Society for German Romanticism and the Baußnern Society.

With her choirs won Angela Gehann - Dernbach prizes at international choir competitions and participated in international festivals. Tours have taken in 12 European countries and the USA. She heads including the Chamber Choir Marienhohe Darmstadt, the vocal ensemble Cantabile Darmstadt, since the end of 2006, the Bach Choir at Darmstadt and the Chamber Orchestra Pro Musica, with which they the complete works of Johann Sebastian Bach's listing in Bach -Werke - cycle. Since 2007 it conducts the Gehann music publisher.

2010 called Angela Gehann - Dernbach with a few like-minded Morekids4music the project to life, which promotes modeled after El Sistema in Venezuela, the musical development of children through orchestral work at all power levels.

Angela Gehann - Dernbach is the daughter of the composer Horst Gehann, lives in Darmstadt, is married and has one daughter.
