Angela Goethals

Angela Bethany Goethals ( born May 20, 1977 in New York City, New York, USA) is an American actress.

Life

Goethals was born in 1977 as a subsidiary of teacher Rosalind Goethals in New York City and grew up there as well. She is the great-granddaughter of George Washington Goethals, the chief engineer of the Panama Canal and namesake of New York's Goethals Bridge. She also has a sister named Sara.

Through a family friend, the actress Jeanie Hackett, she came into acting because she visited some audition with her. With 9 years Goethals had her first serious acting commitment. She was hired as an understudy of Sarah Michelle Gellar in The Widow Claire, a Broadway play by Horton Foote. Two years later, she appeared in her first film Rocket Gibraltar. Other roles followed, for example as Kevin's sister Linnie in Home Alone (1990).

Her first major role was in the 1993 Goethals series Phenom - The Tennis wonder, after 22 episodes but this was discontinued in May 1994. In 1999, Goethals graduated from Vassar College with a Bachelor's Degree in French.

In Germany they became more widely known, especially by the role of Cheryl Larsen in the short-lived television series Do Over ( 2002). In addition, Goethals had many guest appearances in popular series such as Boston Public, Without a Trace - disappeared without a trace and Six Feet Under - Died forever.

Goethals was nominated in 1989, 1991, 1992 and 1994 respectively for a Young Artist Award.
