Angtoria

Angtoria is a Swedish-British symphonic metal band.

Band History

The band was founded in 2001 by Sarah Jezebel Deva and Chris Rehn, originally a purely orchestral project was planned. A year later a first demo was born. With the arrival of Tommy Rehn, Chris Rehn's brother, as second guitarist to the band's music evolved toward Metal with symphonic elements. In 2005 the band signed a contract with Listenable Records. Dave Pybus, Sarah Deva member of Cradle of Filth and beyond at times actively Anathema, came as a bassist to Angtoria. In November 2005, the band began in the Side Lake Studios in Sundsvall with the recordings of their debut album, the drummer Andreas Brobjer and Richard Andersson helped on the keyboard as a studio musician, Aaron Stainthorpe of My Dying Bride appeared as a guest vocalist. After the recordings came John Henriksson from My Own Grave, acting as drummer Angtoria. The debut album God Has a Plan for Us All was released in April 2006, the title track of a video directed by Måns Bertha was filmed. One of the songs from this album was called Confide In Me and a cover version of a song by Kylie Minogue from the year 1994.

Since the debut album in 2006, no tracks were produced, but Sarah J. Deva said in an interview in September 2010 that Angtoria were still together, but now first focus on her solo project, Sarah Jezebel Deva, with whom she also Angotoria songs played live.

Style

Angtoria plays typical symphonic metal with female vocals, orchestral and choral parts and catchy melodies.
