Anja Kampe

Anja Kampe (* in Zella -Mehlis ) is a German singer in vocal range soprano.

Life and artistic work

Through a clever Anja Kampe Note came to opera singing. Actually she wanted to learn guitar. Your music teacher at the music school she overheard singing and thought she should take singing lessons. By high school, she remained her home and her first music teacher Hannelore Schlegelmilch faithful. She studied singing at the Conservatory of Music Carl Maria von Weber Dresden. After that, the artist moved to Turin, where she finished her studies at the Conservatory. At Turin Teatro Regio Anja Kampe was in 1991 her debut as Gretel in the opera Hansel and Gretel. The young singer has won several competitions, including the International Music Competition Giovanni Battista Viotti of Vercelli and the third International Competition for Wagnerian voices in Saarbrücken.

Numerous engagements led the soprano of the great music venues of Italy, France, Israel, Spain, Germany, Austria, Belgium, USA, England, Japan and the Netherlands. In the summer of 2002 she made her debut at Bayreuth as Freia in Das Rheingold and Die Walküre in as Gerhilde. 2013 she sang Sieglinde in Bayreuth. Great achievements came at the Bavarian State Opera as Ariadne in Ariadne auf Naxos and Leonore in Fidelio, at the side of Jonas Kaufmann as Florestan.

In addition to her international stage presence Anja Kampe has worked as a recital and concert singer. As such, she has worked with Daniel Harding, James Conlon, Mark Elder and Michael Boder together.
