Anna Elisabeth of Saxe-Lauenburg

Anna Elisabeth of Saxe- Lauenburg (* August 23 1624 in Ratzeburg, † May 27 1688 in Philippseck ) was a princess of Saxe- Lauenburg and by marriage Countess of Hesse- Homburg.

Life

Anna Elisabeth was a daughter of the Duke Augustus of Saxe -Lauenburg (1577-1656) from his first marriage with Elisabeth Sophie (1599-1627), daughter of Duke Johann Adolph of Holstein- Gottorp.

She married on 2 April 1665 in Lübeck Landgrave Wilhelm Christoph of Hesse- Homburg ( 1625-1681 ). For Wilhelm Christoph, it was the second marriage; from his first marriage to Sophie Eleonore of Hesse- Darmstadt only two daughters survived and Anna Elisabeth should bring the hoped-for heir.
