Anna Louise Föhse

Anna Luise Föhse ( born March 22, 1677 Dessau, † February 5, 1745 ) was the wife of Leopold I of Anhalt -Dessau.

Life

Anna Louise was the daughter Föhse of the Dessau court apothecary Föhse Rudolf (1646-1693) and his wife Agnes Ohme († 1707 ). Leopold I married his childhood sweetheart in 1698, shortly after the government takeover. His mother, Princess Henriette Catherine of Nassau-Orange and the bride's father had Föhse marriage until then prevented because it was deemed not to befitting. Upon payment of 92,000 thalers into the imperial box Anna Luise was raised three years later by Emperor Leopold I to Countess that succession rights of the common children were recognized. Princess Anna Luise acted as regent when her husband was on military campaigns: In the following years he was only temporarily residing in Dessau.
