Anna Paulson

Anna Paulson (born 29 February 1984) is a former Swedish football player. The defender, who won six league titles and two UEFA Women's Cup with Umeå IK, debuted in the Swedish national team in 2004.

Career

Paulson began playing football at Gimonäs CK. In 2001, she joined Umeå IK in the Damallsvenskan. In their debut season, they won with the team the double of league title and National Cup, which was defended in the following year. After she first FFC Frankfurt missed with their team to players like Malin Moström, Anna Sjöström and Hanna Marklund at the first edition of the UEFA Women 's Cup against the German representatives with a 0-2 final defeat of winning the title, succeeded the following year against the Danish club Fortuna Hjørring the victory of the UEFA Women's Champions League 2002/ 03. As defending champion, the team coached by Andrée Jeglertz was allowed to start in the following year, although she had missed the re winning the championship behind Djurgården / Älvsjö. Again she reached the final of the European Cup competition, in which they outclassed the first FFC Frankfurt after a 3-0 home win with a 5-0 away win in the Frankfurt stadium at the Bornheimer Hang.

Thanks in part to its success in the club Paulson recommended for the national team. Under National coach Marika Domanski Lyfors they debuted in October 2004 in a 1-1 draw against Finland in the national selection. First, however, she was a member of the squad still mainly the Swedish U- 21 team and was only sporadically in the senior team for use. In 2005, she was part of the squad at the European Championships in England, but did not play. The club, however, she had finally established itself as a regular force and dominated with the team in the following years, the Swedish Championship. In 2007, she managed to become under the coach ordered Thomas Dennerby the leap into the basic formation of the A-team and a member of the squad for the World Cup finals tournament in 2007, where it ran aground in all three group matches. At the Olympic Games in 2008, it was considered again and again came to three games, including the quarter-final, which was lost against Germany.

In the summer of 2009 Dennerby called them by their club mates Ulla -Karin Rönnlund and Lisa Dahlkvist in the squad for the European Championship finals in 2009.
