Anna Quayle

Anna Quayle ( born October 6, 1936 in Birmingham, Warwickshire ) is a British actress with character roles in film, television and theater. Life and career

Anna Quayle was born in 1936 in Birmingham in the county of Warwickshire in England, the daughter of stage actor Douglas Quayle. She grew up in a Catholic home, which was heavily influenced by their Irish mother Kathleen Parke. Through her parents, she came early to the theater in contact. At the beginning of the 1960s played the tall actress (nearly 1.80 m tall ) roles in the Birmingham Repertory Company in such plays as A Man For All Seasons. In 1963 she was awarded with the Tony Award in the category Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her role in the play Stop the World - I Want to Get Off honored.

1964 Anna Quayle then played in Richard Lester's film comedy Yeah Yeah Yeah about the Beatles their first distinctive character role in a theatrical production. It was followed by other roles in comedies such as in Robert Hartford -Davis The Sandwich Man or Arrivederci, Baby! directed by Ken Hughes.
