Anna Seidel (speed skater)

Anna Seidel (born 31 March 1998) is a German Shorttrackerin. They will start for the Skating Club of Dresden.

Career

After starting out in athletics Seidel joined with nine years for short track speed skating and played there in the 2007/ 08 season, their first competitions as e- junior. In the following seasons, you get several hits, including German Championship title in the Junior Women and a third place at the European Cup in March 2013. Attendance at the Junior World Championships in February 2013 in Warsaw ended with a 40th place among 67 starters. With these results, the 15 -year-old qualified for the short track speed skating World Cup, in which it was used in September 2013 for the first time. First was a 27th place in the 1500 - meter course at the World Cup kick off in Shanghai, their best result until they moved into the semi-finals at the same distance during the competitions in Kolomna, Russia benefited there by the resignation of its competitors and as second of the run the A final of the top six reached. This was tantamount to qualifying for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, the Seidel succeeded as the only German Shorttrackerin next to the 500 -meter sprinter Robert Seifert. Later in the season, their planning was actually aimed at the Junior World Championships, Seidel came before the Olympics, just one- season use at the European Championships, where they missed together with Julia Riedel, Tina Grassow and Bianca Walter as semi Third just the final.

Seidel has been nominated in the first round in 2013 by the DOSB for the German Olympic team. There the student of the high school sports Dresden was the second youngest member behind the nine months younger ski jumper Gianina Ernst. In Sochi succeeded Seidel to reach the semi-finals, where they indeed improved the national record of her teammate Christin Priebst, the finals but missed and the victory of the Chinese defending champion Zhou Yang eventually finished in 17th place. In the short track speed skating world championships in March 2014 Seidel was eliminated on the 1500 meters and 500 meters respectively in the flow.
