Anne Brasseur

Anne Justine Brasseur ( born May 19, 1950 in Luxembourg (city) ) is a Luxembourg politician ( DP).

Life

After graduation in 1969 at the Meederches Lycée in Limpertsberg Anne Brasseur studied psychology at the University of Tübingen and the University of Mannheim with graduate degrees in 1975., You worked in the Service de Psychologie et d'Orientation scolaires a vocational school as well as at the Lycée de Garçons in Esch- sur -Alzette and directed the service Central d'Assistance Sociale at the Attorney General's Office.

In 1975, she was elected to the City Council of the City of Luxembourg, where she was with a break of six years until September 2009. In 1979, she was first elected to the Chambre des Députés.

From 1980 to 1994 she was president of the Association des Femmes Libérales, where she was appointed an honorary member. From 1991 to 1990 she served as Deputy mayor in charge of Construction, Education and Sports of the City of Luxembourg.

From 1999 to 2004 she was Minister of Education, Vocational Training and Sports in the coalition government Juncker Polfer. In the parliamentary elections in Luxembourg in 2013, she was re-elected to the Chambre des Députés.

In the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council, to which she belonged from 1995 to 1999 and again since 2009, it has since 2009, President of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, and since 2014 President of the Assembly as a whole.

Anne Brasseur is the mother of a daughter.
