Anne Vondeling

Anne Vondeling ( born March 2, 1916 in Appelscha, † November 22, 1979 in Mechelen) was a Dutch politician ( PvdA).

Vondeling attended a school in Assen and studied until 1940 in Wageningen. During the Second World War he worked as a civil engineer country. After that he worked as a tax consultant and a PhD from the farming school in Wageningen. From 1960 to 1963 he worked as a university professor at the University of Groningen.

Drees was from 1962 to 1966 leader of the Labour Party from 1969 to 1971 and whose party chairman. He was a member of the Second Chamber of the States General from 1946 to 1979, until his tenures as Minister: In 1958 he was Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in the Cabinet Drees III, from 1965 to 1966 he was in the Cabinet Cals Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister. He belonged to the Euro Europe from 1959 to 1962. On December 7, 1972, he was elected Chairman of the Second Chamber, an office he led to the resignation on 17 July 1979.

Vondeling was elected in 1979 in the European Parliament, but died only a few months after the election in a car accident in Mechelen, Belgium. According to him, Anne- Vondeling Foundation and the Anne- Vondeling Prize for political journalists have been named.
