Annea Lockwood
Annea Lockwood ( born July 29, 1939 in Christchurch ) is a New Zealand -American composer and music educator.
Lockwood studied music at the University of Canterbury. After graduating with a Bachelor she sat from 1961 to 1963 Peter Racine Fricker their training at the Royal College of Music in London continued. She took part in the 1962-63 Darmstadt Summer Courses 1963-64 and studied with Gottfried Michael Koenig. Then worked until 1973 in the UK and Europe, then in the United States as a freelance composer and musician. In the U.S., Lockwood taught first at Hunter College of the City University of New York ( CUNY ), since 1982 at Vassar College.
