Annus Mirabilis (poem)

Annus Mirabilis, the year of the miracle, is a poem by the English poet John Dryden in the year 1666. Dryden wrote the poem in Charlton, Wiltshire, whither he had fled from the plague in London.

The poem deals with the English- Dutch naval wars and the Great Fire of London.

It includes 1216 lines, which are arranged at 304 quartets. Each quartet follows the rhyme scheme abab.
