Antártica Chilena

The Antártica Chilena Province is the southernmost of the four provinces in Chile's Magallanes y Antártica Chilena de la and the southernmost of the country. It has 2,392 inhabitants and a surface area of ​​17,859 km ², taking into account the surface of the Chilean Antarctic territory with an area of ​​1,247,995 km ², the area reached 1,265,854 km ².

The province was created November 4, 1975 and consists of two municipalities, Cabo de Hornos ( this was called until 2001 Navarino ) and Antártica. Both municipalities are administered by the Cabo de Hornos municipality of Puerto Williams from.

The most important settlements in the province, in addition to Puerto Williams Puerto Navarino and Puerto Toro Caleta Eugenia, these are all on the island of Navarino. The only civilian settlement in the municipality of Villa Las Estrellas Antártica is.
