Anthemoundas (Greek Ανθεμούντας, ( m. sg ). ); official name Dimotiki Enotita Anthemounda Δημοτική Ενότητα Ανθεμούντα, alternative transcription Anthemountas; Katharevousa Anthemous ( Ανθεμούς ) is one of four municipal districts of the municipality Polygiros on the Chalkidiki peninsula in the Greek region Central Macedonia. Its name derives from the River Anthemoundas (or Anthemous ) and its valley. It was created as a separate municipality within the Greek local government reform Schedio Kapodistrias in 1997 by merger of the previously independent municipalities Galatista, Vavdos and Doumbia. The administrative seat of the municipality was the largest town, Galatista.

Anthemoundas is in the northwest of the prefecture of Halkidiki and takes the southeastern part of the Anthemoundas Valley and the hills a north and south of it. The running from southeast to northwest valley with the same small river leading to the bay of Thessaloniki, the north-western end of the Gulf of Thermaikos. In the mouth level of Anthemoundas is the international airport of Thessaloniki, which is part of the municipality of Thermi Thessaloniki in the Regional District. Thermi forms the northern, northwestern and western boundary Anthemoundas '. To the north Anthemoundas borders the municipality Langadas. To the east of the district Polygiros follows, in the south of the municipality of Nea Propondida.

The dominant landscape feature of the village is the valley of the river Anthemoundas (or Anthemous ) in its upper reaches. Its northern boundary is formed by the mountain range of the Chortiatis ( 1,201 m) and the south east of the situated side peak Profit Ilias ( 946 m), which is the highest point in the municipality Anthemoundas simultaneously and directly north of the village lies Galatista. The southern boundary of the Anthemoundas Valley is a running from west to east mountain range with peaks Kalavros, Kremasmata and Vavdos. The two mountain ranges rejuvenate the Anthemoundas valley to the east. Both mountain ranges meet approximately 3 km southwest of Galatista and leave them on the mountain pass formed the river Anthemoundas and the parallel National Road 16 to the east ( Polygiros ) happen. The highest town in the municipality is Vavdos in their proximity extensive mining activity.
