Anthony Favre (2010)

Anthony Favre (born 1 February 1984 in role VD ) is a Swiss football goalkeeper, who is under contract with FC Wil in the Challenge League.

Playing career

Anthony Favre began his career in 2000 with the second team of FC Echallens. He spent the following three years at Servette FC Genève. During this time he has seen no appreciable success. In 2004 it moved Favre for one and a half years to the Vaudois FC Baulmes, in which he was allowed to call himself goalkeeper. In 2007 he was engaged by the then Challenge League side FC Lausanne-Sport. In the 2009/10 season, Favre reached with his club surprisingly the final of the Swiss Cup. In the final against FC Basel in the Vaudois lost but with 0:6. Thanks to the participation in the Cup Final, the club from Lac Léman to the qualification of the UEFA Europa League was allowed 2010/11 to play. It succeeded the sensation, because the FC Lausanne-Sport reached the group stage, in which Anthony Favre did not play a significant role. In the same season Lausanne-Sport reached the summit in the Axpo Super League. In spring 2011, Favre extended his existing contract by a further two years. For the new season FC Lausanne-Sport to the former Swiss international goalkeeper Fabio Coltorti has committed. This meant that only Favre was substitute goalkeeper.
