Anthony Hill (squash player)

Anthony James Hill ( born June 9, 1969 in Melbourne ) is a retired Australian squash player, who stood in 1999 to fifth position in the world rankings.

Career

His professional career started in the right hand after reaching the final of the Junior World Championship in 1988. He already moved in 1989 into the top ten men, from which he fell out no more up to end of his career as a player. His greatest successes he achieved in 1995 by reaching the World Cup semi-finals in Cyprus, as well as the World Cup semi-finals in the team competition in 1999 in Cairo. His playing style was considered very offensive and a risk taker. During his playing days he had been locked for two years from the WSF for assaults and insults.

Anthony Hill lives with his wife Leila and their child in Cairo since end of his career. Hill converted to Islam.
