Anthony Lobello, Jr.

Anthony Lobello ( born August 15, 1984 in Tallahassee ) is a native of the U.S. Italian Shorttracker, speed skaters and inline speed skaters.

First operational Lobello Roll Quick run, before he moved shortly thereafter to Inline Speed ​​Skating. At the age of 15 he had there, with international class and started in 2001 in Valence d' Agen at the Junior World Championships in inline speedskating. Here he won with Jordan Malone and Steve Krawulski the 5000 -meter track relay and won the 500 -meter road sprint silver medal. After leaving the U.S. Inline Skating National Team in the same year and finished school, Lobello studied at Northern Michigan University.

In January 2004, he began the short track speed skating sports and went at the Junior World Championships in Beijing at the start. There, however, he was less successful, with the squadron ended his race in the semifinals, even earlier in the other disciplines.

In the following season, 2004/ 05 Lobello started at any short track speed skating mega-event, first at the Olympic Winter Games in Turin in 2006, he returned as the youngest member of the U.S. short track speed skating squad to Apolo Anton Ohno in the international competitions. Although he retired in his only Olympic appearance over 500 meters during preprocessing, he was also nominated for the team and individual world championship in 2006, where he also reached but no singles final. In December 2006 Lobello went into his next sport, speed skating, at the start. At the American Championships he reached the sprint four-way battle in seventh place, winner was Kip Carpenter. At the 2007 World Championships, he took part though, but did not manage good finishes. The season 2007/ 08 was for Lobello without international short track starts, only in speed skating he took again at the American Championships and Time Trials, in the latter he could even win the 1500 m race.

The short track speed skating World Cup 2008/ 09 he started his first podium in the World Cup when he finished second in the second 1000 m race.
