Anthony Marwood

Anthony Marwood ( born 1979 in Helsinki ) is a British violinist.

He made his debut at the 1993 BBC Proms. In 2005 he took the reins of the world premiere of Thomas Adès ' Violin Concerto with the Berlin Philharmonic.

Anthony Marwood works regularly as a soloist or conductor together with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields or with other orchestras.

He is artistic director of the ICO ( Irish Chamber Orchestra ) since early 2006.

He plays a violin by Carlo Bergonzi from 1736.
