Anthony McCarten
Anthony McCarten (* 1961 in New Plymouth) is a writer and filmmaker from New Zealand.
Life
Anthony McCarten wrote in 1987 together with his friend Stephen Sinclair the play Ladies 'Night, with whom they had international success: Ladies' Night has been translated into 12 languages and won the 2001 Molière Award. The resemblance to The Full Monty prompted the authors in 1998, 20th Century Fox to $ 230 million to sue for damages.
McCarten wrote another 12 plays, several screenplays, a book of poems, short stories and five novels. He lives in Los Angeles, Wellington and London.
