Anthony Olubunmi Okogie

Anthony Olubunmi Cardinal Okogie ( born June 16, 1936 in Lagos, Nigeria) is an emeritus Archbishop of Lagos.

Life

Anthony Olubunmi ecology studied in Ibadan and Rome Catholic theology and philosophy, acquired in 1966, the Licentiate of Theology and received in the same year, the sacrament of Holy Orders. He then worked as a pastor in Idumagbo and as head of the Catholic schools of the Archdiocese of Lagos. In addition, he taught at King's College Catholic religion.

In 1971, he received episcopal ordination and became titular bishop of Mascula and Auxiliary Bishop of Oyo. Two years later he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. Archbishop of Lagos.

On 21 October 2003, Pope John Paul II was a cardinal priest with the titular church of Beata Vergine Maria del Monte Carmelo a Mostacciano to the College of Cardinals. He participated in the conclave of 2005, and the conclave of 2013.

Pope Benedict XVI. adopted on 25 May 2012 will be on the grounds of age pre- mounted resignation.
