Anthony Quayle

Sir John Anthony Quayle CBE, ( born September 7, 1913 in Ainsdale, Sefton, Merseyside, United Kingdom, † 20 October 1989 in London, United Kingdom) was a British film and stage actor and director and writer.

Life

Quayle - his real name John, he passed - served as a Major in the Second World War, before he began, first in the theater, to work as an actor later in the film. He also wrote two novels, Eight Hours from England and On Such A Night. Also, in 1990 his autobiography, A Time to Speak was published.

He was married twice, 1934-1941 with Hermione Hannen, and from 1947 until his death, Dorothy Hyson, both actresses. By Dorothy Hyson Quayle had two children, his daughter, Jenny Quayle, today acts of which also front of the camera as an actress.

1952 Quayle was appointed CBE in 1955 and knighted. He died at the age of 76 from liver cancer.
